Crash and Build

Crash and Build is a collaborative album between Sami Yenigun of 1432 R and Dreamcast.Moe of Ghostly International. Its subject is creativity born from destruction, and it traces a single arc: hanging on, flaming out, letting go, building again.

Demolition and construction use the same crews and often the same materials, and cities have always grown by tearing themselves down first. The record runs on that paradox. Bruising basslines arrive like the wrecking ball, healing pads like whatever gets planted in the cleared lot, and the two share custody of every track. Gnarled vocals sit on pristine percussion, the damaged thing placed carefully on the clean surface. Crash the Benz is the wreck; Redeem is the slow business of standing back up. Moods cycle the way they do after a real loss, grief and relief trading shifts, neither one in charge for long.

Mastered by Dietrich Schoenemann at Complete Mastering in Connecticut.
